Maintenance II

Job Summary

Daymark Living is a groundbreaking campus where adults with intellectual, cognitive or development disabilities can live, learn, and thrive.  The campus sits on 40 acres near historic downtown Waxahachie, and includes 28 cottages and community buildings for dining, fitness and education. The Maintenance II position will provide overnight maintenance and security across the campus.

Job Responsibilities

The following job responsibilities are representative of the Maintenance Manager:
  • Responds to routine maintenance and scheduled preventative maintenance requests
  • Performs repair and all work assignments in a professional and high-quality manner
  • Performs security patrols throughout entire campus and assures that all buildings are secure and there are no unauthorized persons on campus.
  • Perform make-ready procedures on resident vacated resident rooms
  • Assists Manager on Duty with any Resident, or facility emergencies that occur during shift
  • Communicates with Maintenance Manager to advise of any emergency’s that occur.          
  • Advises Maintenance Manager by written report of all Security checks and Maintenance issues addressed during shift.
  • Assists residents with fire evacuation during an emergency.
  • Interacts with residents and staff in a courteous and friendly manner.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two (2) years of prior experience in maintenance, general construction, or related field preferred.
  • Must demonstrate willingness to learn basic security procedures.
  • Must express or demonstrate an interest in working with a special needs population.
  • Must be capable of reading and writing the English language.
  • Must demonstrate a warm, outgoing personality.
  • Must at all times meet background checks as well as employability conditions of the Employee Misconduct Registry (EMR) and Nurse Aid Registry (NAR), as maintained by Texas Department of Aging and Disabilities (TDADS).
